The yellow-spotted rock hyrax is the closest living relative of elephants and sea-cows, despite their rodent-like appearance.
They are currently found in eastern and southern Africa, though historic populations could be found ranging from Europe to China. Hyraxes are extremely capable climbers and jumpers and they have hook-like claws to help them thrive in their environment. This individual was photographed at the Plzen Zoo, Czech Republic.
